MJ Films Process: Site Assessment, Reservation, Initial Payment, and Scheduling
At MJ Films, we understand that aerial drone photography and videography in the U.K. are subject to the whims of the weather. Hence, we adopt a flexible and sensible approach when it comes to scheduling our client’s projects.
Operating drones in adverse weather conditions like rain or strong winds is not feasible. Additionally, our clients may have specific time-sensitive requirements, influencing when our drones can take flight.
What We Require from You
To kickstart the process, we need the precise location of the shoot (including the postcode), the preferred date, and a detailed brief. The more information you provide about what you wish to capture in the photographs and videos, the better equipped we are to meet your expectations.
Preliminary Site Evaluation
Upon receiving your details, we commence with an initial site evaluation from our office, leveraging online resources. This preliminary assessment helps us determine the feasibility of the shoot, identify any potential challenges, and recognise if there are flight restrictions or additional permissions to be procured.
Especially for extensive filming projects, where drone aerial photography might represent just a segment of the entire production, our adherence to our CAA license’s stipulations is paramount. This compliance may necessitate conducting a physical site visit to perform our thorough pre-flight evaluation.
While each assignment is distinct and susceptible to various external factors that might influence the timing and location of filming, our proactive planning approach aims to mitigate potential disruptions. At MJ Films, our commitment is not just to meet your aerial photography and videography needs but to ensure a smooth, efficient, and hassle-free experience from start to finish.
Weather Considerations
At MJ Films, we proactively monitor the weather forecasts starting from five days before the scheduled shoot. In the event of unfavourable conditions, we initiate discussions with our clients 48 hours before the shoot.
Should the weather prove to be unsuitable, we promptly offer to reschedule the shoot to the next viable date without incurring any additional costs, with the booking deposit seamlessly carried over to the newly scheduled date. Recognising the unpredictable nature of the UK weather, we pride ourselves on our adaptability, ensuring that arrangements can be modified as needed.
In scenarios where rescheduling is not feasible due to external constraints (such as live events or client availability), MJ Films is unable to refund the initial deposit.
If the decision is to proceed with the original date despite uncertain weather, our dedicated pilots will remain on site for as long as possible, hoping for a favourable break in the weather to carry out the shoot successfully.
